AdAid is an open marketplace for the swapping of ideas

A forum for Non-Profit Organisations to ask for help with a problem needing creative skills (the Brief), and for those in the creative services sector to usefully focus their skills and their time in a bid to create some social good.

AdAid is a division of the Robin Hood Foundation.

Advertising and Communications Agencies

Waiting for your skills, there are dozens of Non-Profit Organisations to whom you could make the world of difference - just by picking one creative brief and creating a pro-bono solution to feature in a print, radio, billboard, web or TV campaign. Many non profits may need to get right back to basics and require design input into corporate identity or website development. Alternatively, it may be a public relations campaign that they need.

Your time won’t be wasted. All Non-Profit Organisations listed have been assisted in completing our 101 checklist, ensuring you receive an industry standard creative briefing sheet to work with. These clients are no different to any of your other clients, except instead of dollars and cents reward you'll get to make sense of a social problem - and be part of the solution.

Media Owners

We invite you as a media body to navigate the selection of dozens of great creative ads available on this site, choosing the one that suits you best.

For many of the Non-Profits behind these campaigns this is the first time they have had a voice and an opportunity to tell people who they are and how they offer help. It may be the very first ad they have ever run - and by donating even one media space, you will have made a difference. Best of all you'll have an easy to access and innovative creative showcase to choose from.

All media donors to Robin Hood’s AdAid will be acknowledged in our inaugural AdAid Heroes list which will be promoted to all our business partners.

Non-Profit Organisations

This is your chance to get the pro-bono help to you need for increased visibility and better results. Simply register as a Non-Profit, do the 101 checklist and fill out the creative briefing form on the AdAid website. Then you can expect a call from AdAid and a quick check to ensure your needs are clearly expressed and understood. You will then see your creative brief posted on the website for every advertising agency and design freelancer, media college and university in the country to pick from.

Once they downlaod your brief from the site they are likely to contact you for more information. At last - you've just found a pro bono agency. They will work with you directly to deliver your campaign and will be able to give you an indication of the time frame involved and any hard production costs that require reimbursement. When the work has been produced we ask you to inform us so that we can load it back up on the AdAid website for every media company in the country to see with a view to running it pro-bono.

Robin Hood's Business Partners

By volunteering one day a year your company can help non profit organisations complete the agency creative briefing form or assist Robin Hood in running 101 clinics to check that Non-Profits have got the basics right as they begin working towards their communications strategy.

Imagine seeing the resulting solution as it runs on billboards, newspapers and TV, or logging onto a brand new website with re-vitalised logos and branding. Outstanding outcomes that began with your help.

We will also ask you to make heroes out of our media donors; the media companies who pick up the ads and run them for free. We will update you with the list of contributing media and show you the ads they ran. A congraulatory "good on you" email from your company will be the encoragement they need to keep up the great work.

Some other ways you can also help be part of AdAid:

  • Consider donating a percentage of your bonus media space to a non profit campaign of your staff's choice
  • Encourage the agency you work with to donate its time and expertise to a worthy cause in support of AdAid
